Kalen DeBoer faces the music after Alabama's defeat in Knoxville

There is no pleasant way to recap a game like that, but Kalen DeBoer had to do it anyway. Alabama's head coach walked through his team's loss at Tennessee — a 26-10 defeat that marked the Crimson Tide's second straight setback.

Any honest recap starts with an offense that never found itself. Quarterback Keelon Russell finished 19-of-29 passing for 147 yards with two interceptions, and Alabama's leading rusher totaled just 34 yards — a measure of how thoroughly Tennessee's defense dictated the afternoon in Knoxville.

For Alabama, the loss tightens everything, with the Tide edging toward the point where one more defeat ends their playoff hopes. For Tennessee, DeBoer's somber review is simply the view from the other sideline of the Vols' biggest win of the season.
