Georgia Lands Four-Star Franklin Tackle Koehn Dial, a Tennessee Target

Georgia reached into Tennessee and came away with one of the state's best young linemen. Koehn Dial, a four-star offensive tackle in the 2028 class from Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, announced his commitment to the Bulldogs on Monday, Oct. 20, 2026.

Dial, who stands 6-foot-6 and weighs 295 pounds, picked Georgia over offers that included Tennessee, LSU, Kentucky, Ohio State and Oklahoma. The Bulldogs were among the first Power 4 programs to offer him, back in June 2024, and Dial said he simply could not wait any longer to make his decision public.

The rankings explain why so many major programs were involved. Dial is the No. 174 overall prospect in the 2028 class in the 247Sports composite rankings, the No. 19 offensive tackle nationally and the No. 9 player in the state of Tennessee. He is the fourth commitment in Georgia's 2028 class, joining quarterback Jayden Wade, safety Nick Carroll and tight end Asa Wall, and the group currently ranks No. 3 in the country.

For Tennessee, the loss stings because it happened at home. Losing an in-state lineman of Dial's caliber to an SEC rival this early in the 2028 cycle gives the Volunteers ground to make up in their own backyard.
