Tennessee Offers 2028 Back Zion Coger, Then Shows Him a Win Over Alabama

Tennessee timed its move with Zion Coger about as well as a staff can. The Vols extended a scholarship offer to the four-star running back in the 2028 class, then brought him to Knoxville for his first visit — on the weekend Alabama came to town.

Coger watched Tennessee beat the Crimson Tide and was welcomed into the locker room for the celebration afterward. For a first visit, it is hard to script a better introduction: an offer already in hand, a rivalry win on the field, and a behind-the-scenes look at how the program enjoys its biggest moments.

He left town with his interest in Tennessee growing, and explained afterward what stood out about the trip and how the Vols helped themselves. His recruitment is still expanding, which makes the early impression valuable — Tennessee got its offer in and its best foot forward before the race for the 2028 back gets crowded.
